BENSELER
– looking back on more than 60 years
In 1961, the foundation stone of the BENSELER Group was laid by Manfred Benseler in Markgröningen-Talhausen, home to his first metalworking business. In the six decades since then, we have grown steadily and have evolved into a market leader in the fields of surface, coating and deburring technology. Additive manufacturing has formed part of our service portfolio since 2018.
Milestones in the history of the

2023
Thomas Müller and Dr. Mathias Mühleisen are now solely responsible for the operational management of BENSELER Holding.
Birgit Werner-Walz is stepping down from active management after 20 years and, together with her sister Dr. Karin Keller-Werner and other shareholders, is now setting the course for the future of the BENSELER Group at family holding company level so that it can remain a family business in the next generation.
2021
Establishment of the subsidiary BENSELER Polska Sp. z o.o. in the deburring division.
2019
The BENSELER Group acquires LISI Automotive BETEO GmbH & Co. KG in Gummersbach and changes the company’s name. The new BENSELER BETEO GmbH & Co. KG expands its portfolio in the field of thread locks.
2018
BENSELER moves into additive manufacturing and together with 3D Laser establishes the subsidiary 3D Laser BW GmbH & Co. KG with headquarters in Kirchheim unter Teck.
2017
BV Oberflächentechnik GmbH & Co. KG changes its name into BENSELER Oberflächentechnik NRW GmbH & Co. KG and moves from Werdohl to the new plant in Lüdenscheid-Wibschla.
2016
BENSELER Beschichtungen Bayern GmbH & Co. KG is expanded by a second plant and a system for the cathodic dip coating (CDC) of bodywork and automotive structural parts.
2016
The company management of the BENSELER group is expanded: Dr. Mathias Mühleisen and Thomas Müller run the family business together with managing partner Birgit Werner-Walz.
2015
At the end of October, BENSELER Group acquires Vossloh’s shares in BV Oberflächentechnik GmbH & Co. KG in Werdohl and is thus the sole owner of the company.
2015
BENSELER acquires 70 % of the shares in PROVE TECH CZ s.r.o (Czech Republic).
2012
In September, Techno Color in Bogen is renamed BENSELER Beschichtungen Bayern GmbH & Co. KG.
2008
Manfred Werner retires from the management of BENSELER Holding.
The company shares are transferred to the next family generation.
An advisory board is established.2006
The subsidiary of BENSELER Entgratungen moves from Werdohl to Hattingen.
2005
BENSELER acquires the shares of the third-party shareholder in Techno Color in Bogen.
2004
BENSELER Beschichtungen moves to Kornwestheim. In the new plant, a cathodic dip coating system with subsequent electrostatic powder coating unit is put into operation.
2003
Birgit Werner-Walz joins the holding company as managing partner.
1995
BENSELER acquires a stake in Techno Color GmbH Oberflächenveredelung in Bogen (Bavaria).
1994
The OZF Oberflächenbeschichtungszentrum GmbH & Co. in Frankenberg/Saxony is established with the product fields of cathodic dip coating, wet paint and electrostatic powder coating.
1990
BENSELER Entgratungen moves to Marbach am Neckar.
1988
Company founder Manfred Benseler retires from active corporate activities after 27 years.
1987
BV Oberflächentechnik GmbH is established in cooperation with Vossloh.
